The Cell Phone Ban now bans cell phone use when driving in construction or maintenance zones to all projects and not just in areas with a reduced speed limit.
Directed Trusts law establishes a “directed trust” in the Trust and Trustees Act which will add flexibility to estate plans and administration of such trusts.
The new Social Media Privacy law prohibits employers from requesting or requiring prospective or current employees to provide any account information, such as passwords, in order for the employer to gain access to the employee’s social networking site.
Administrators of long-term trusts now have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances while protecting beneficiaries and preventing abuses that could adversely affect the trust.
These are just a few of the new laws for Illinois in 2013.
