In Austin, Texas, a class-action lawsuit was filed against some of the most popular mobile app companies alleging those companies routinely steal address book data without the users consent or knowledge. The suit seeks to stop mobile app makers from stealing with data without permission.

Some of the claims in the complaint include invasion of privacy, disclosure or use of wire or electronic communication and breach of computer security. So far there is no indication that the information obtained by the mobile app companies has been resold.

Some of the companies being sued include Apple and Twitter.
