With a new year quickly underway, people with an Estate Plan are already a step ahead. However, that doesn’t mean that’s the end of the road.
Estate Plans should be reviewed every 3 to 5 years. However, if certain life events occur, an Estate Plan should be reviewed even sooner. Some life events that trigger a review include: the end of a marriage, the death of a beneficiary, agent or executor, the birth of a new child or grandchild, a change in financial circumstances (for better or for worse), a change in the tax law, or the decision to make or rescind a gift.
This is just a short list of situations that prompt an Estate Plan review. Please contact my office today if you’d like a free Estate Plan review to determine if a change in circumstance warrants a revision to your plan.
